TEMPORARY SKILL SHORTAGE VISA (TSS SUBCLASS 482)
This visa allows employer to sponsor appropriately skilled worker for filling a position that they are unable to fill with skilled Australian. This visa is for addressing the temporary skill shortage in Australia and in order to bring overseas workers to fill that gap. This visa has three different streams for the applicants nominated by approved sponsors:
SHORT-TERM STREAM
This visa allows employers to employ skilled labour for their business in order to address the shortage in skilled workers, that cannot be suitably sourced from Australian labour.
This visa allows you to stay in Australia for up to 2 years or 4 years if an ITO applies.
Your occupation should be listed on the TSS short term occupation list.
MEDIUM-TERM STREAM
Your occupation should be listed under the medium-term stream or Regional Occupation List (ROL) for a TSS visa or Long-term Strategic Skills list (ML TSSL).
It allows you to work in Australia for up to 4 years.
You should have at least 2 years experience in your related nominated occupation
LABOUR AGREEMENT STREAM
You are only eligible for this stream if your employer who’s wishing to sponsor you has entered into a labour agreement with the Australian governemnt.
REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL 3 STREAMS:
You must meet required work experience for each stream
You must meet required English language skills.
You must have complied with all the statutory conditions of your previous visa.
You should meet all the Australian health and character requirements.
You must be nominated for a job by approved sponsor.
You must fulfill all the required qualifications, skills and experience for the required skill assessment.
